Grades are still considered contemporary in the sense that they provide a standardized way to evaluate and compare students' performance. They serve as a measure of academic achievement and help students understand their strengths and areas for improvement. However, there is ongoing debate about the effectiveness and fairness of grading systems, with some arguing that they can be limiting and do not always accurately reflect a student's true abilities or potential. Ultimately, while grades remain a common practice in education, there is a growing recognition of the need for more holistic and individualized approaches to assessment. **

School grades are no longer contemporary because they often rely on traditional methods of assessment that may not accurately reflect a student's true abilities or potential. The education system is evolving to recognize the importance of skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration, which are not always captured by traditional grading systems. Additionally, grades can create unnecessary competition and stress among students, leading to a focus on achieving high marks rather than genuine learning and growth. As a result, there is a growing movement towards more holistic and personalized forms of assessment that better reflect the diverse talents and strengths of students. **

School grades can be made more contemporary by incorporating a more holistic approach to assessment, including project-based learning, real-world applications, and skills-based evaluation. This could involve a shift away from traditional letter grades to a more comprehensive system that assesses a student's critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills. Additionally, using technology to track and assess student progress in real-time can provide a more accurate and up-to-date representation of a student's abilities. Finally, involving students in the assessment process and allowing them to have a voice in how they are evaluated can also make school grades more contemporary. **

To calculate grades with exam grades, you typically assign a weight to each exam based on its importance. For example, if there are two exams and one is worth 40% of the final grade and the other is worth 60%, you would multiply each exam grade by its respective weight. Then, you would add these weighted scores together to get the overall grade. Finally, you would convert the total score to a letter grade based on a predetermined grading scale. **
